Minion is still doing ok. He’s spent a lot of time sleeping, even for a ferret. He wasn’t interested in much playtime, aside from a short walk around the bedroom last night, which while abnormal isn’t a bad thing; we’re to limit his physical activity for several days while he recovers.
He’s not been very enthusiastic overall about his medicine. The liquid component (which reminds me of pepto bismol) gets… messy, at times, with the head shaking and the little droplets sprayed everywhere. But I’m told he handled it much better this morning. He’s also started eating more on his own (we had to coax him to eat somewhat initially), and his odorous other end is functioning properly and frequently, if not in quite the copious amounts we’re accustomed to (due to the lack of a full and normal quantity of food I’m sure).
And he’s definitely cranked up the cuteness factor a couple notches.  He looks very pathetic and very bored when he wants to. We’re still keeping him separate from the others for a time, as he needs to be 100% better before we let him resume the rough and tumble ferrety lifestyle. His leg had a bit of dried blood this morning from the IV wound, we think he might’ve chewed or scratched at it some, and we don’t want it breaking open completely due to wrestling with Jack-jack or something.
Overall we’re really happy with his recovery so far, and we’re continuing to check on him constantly to make sure he’s still doing alright. Several more days of medication, and a couple weeks of watching to be sure he’s not having issues swallowing, and he’ll be 100% recovered. A big thanks to the folks from the Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Huntersville, and to our local vet, Dr. Lowry.
