We have incoming internets! Time-Warner originally said they couldn't even schedule our install due to not having our new house address in their records. Nevermind that every house around us has service, they still had to send a tech out to confirm that we were in range of the base station hookup and all that. Seven to ten business days was the estimate…but they managed it in a week's time, as they called back today to schedule our install. And the earliest install they could manage?
An astounding Monday! We had to turn that down since thats when we have movers coming in Maryland…but as of Tuesday the 19th we should have internets at the new place, if all goes well. Much faster than I was expecting given past history with various cablecos.
Also, my truck was checked out and fixed by Midas. As a couple people knew, it was making a semi-random but horribly painful metal screeching noise. According to Midas, this was a notification feature that my brakes were going south, designed (this is paraphrased into my own interpretation) to get automotively inept people like myself to take our vehicles in for service before we end up with no braking abilities. Cost a lot (had to replace rotors as well), but my truck makes no noise, has A/C, and is checked out and ready for the long drive down to North Carolina.
We've got our scheduled disconnect setup for Comcast and BGE for the apartment, now we just have to remember to change our address for all our online bills and Michele' magazine subscriptions. And, of course, we (and our possessions) have to survive the move. I'm now off to bug my dearest wife to come say hello to our nonexistant audience here!
