You’ve got diptheria. I’m gonna crack yer bones!

So I finally visited a chiropractor today after almost 4 years of saying I needed to (I’ve had lower back pain so intense when I’m laying down that it both wakes me up and prevents me from easily getting up due to the pain, and getting more and more frequent over the past 4 years and severely impairing my sleep, for those who hadn’t heard the complaints prior).

I got to bend at every conceivable angle while they measured it, and got poked, prodded, and rearranged a bit, plus a healthy dose of radiation (aka xrays). Hopefully on Monday all that will add up to something simple to fix me up. Aka, we’ll likely have some more Izzard quotes on Monday for you. “Make the noise, I live for the noise!”

For temporary treatment, they had me lay down and stuck sticky pads on my lower back and neck for about 10 minutes. They tingled and got rather warm. Found out it was electro-muscle stimulation. Left my shoulders feeling like they had bandaid adhesive on them for about 30min afterwards, but otherwise didn’t do a thing 🙁

It was kind of weird how much he was able to infer just by poking at my neck and back with his hands. He asked if I got pain between my shoulder blades on occasion, which I actually do (it feels like a muscle is caught on something randomly, and goes away just as randomly), but I’d forgotten about it entirely in the patient history interview. He was able to tell that I should be having that happen sometimes just from the way the muscles and bones in my neck were sitting. Very cool and creepy at the same time.
