Last night the ferrets dug their way up into the couch in the playtime room, and apparently while up there Minion got a hold of something he shouldn’t have. About 5 AM this morning he started vomiting, and continued to do so until we took him to the vet at 9:15 AM. His manner and symptoms were severe enough that our local vet referred us to a ferret specialist about 45 minutes away, so we drove Minion up there for examination. Long story short, we now know of a ferret specialist in the area (yay!) and Min is under supervision and getting fluids for dehydration. The status as of the moment is that he’s gone from listless at 12 PM to feisty around 6 PM, probably due to the IV. He’ll be under supervision throughout the night to determine if surgery is needed to remove a blockage. Will update once we hear the final word tonight/tomorrow.
